TechLeap India is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) strategic philanthropy foundation dedicated to transforming education for underprivileged children in India. By channeling contributions from a committed community of philanthropists into targeted grants, we partner with NGOs to amplify their impact. Through these grants and strategic guidance, we empower organizations to deliver measurable outcomes and drive systemic improvements in education.

What we do

We partner with local NGOs (nongovernmental organizations) working within impoverished areas of India. These organizations either collaborate directly with government schools or operate their own free private K-12 institutions. Each school we support offers students free educational services and often run additional programs to uplift the broader community.

At one supported school, an assessment revealed that 44% of 7th graders had math skills at or below a 3rd-grade level.

Educational Software
Empowering Through Technology
We provide essential software for K-12 education, such as MindSpark, along with tools for community workshops, such as accounting software. These resources allow students and community members to build foundational skills and gain access higher-paying job opportunities.
Hardware & Connectivity
Enabling Digital Access
We provide laptops, desktops, WiFi installation and maintenance, and often open fully functioning labs in empty classrooms, fully stocking them ready to empower students.
Community Development
Vocational Training for a Brighter Future
Some schools offer community-based vocational training for parents and other adults, teaching valuable skills in fields like sewing, beauty services, and digital literacy. These intensive courses empower individuals to break the cycle of poverty and pursue new career paths or start their own businesses. We support these programs by providing essential resources, including hardware, software, and funding for other program needs.
Computer Science Education
Investing in Quality Learning for Lasting Impact
With Code.org, we implement a robust curriculum tailored to introduce students to foundational computer science concepts. We ensure our school partners dedicate specific times for students to access our computer labs solely for Code.org activities, creating a focused and structured environment where students can explore, create, and problem-solve with technology. By providing resources, guidance, and structured learning time, we aim to inspire the next generation of tech innovators and prepare students for a world that increasingly relies on digital skills.

Children in these areas are often “rented out” by their parents to beg on the streets, receiving only a portion of the money they bring in, which perpetuates a cycle of poverty. We raise funds to support NGOs working tirelessly to break this heartbreaking cycle. An NGO we support began by simply offering free food and storytelling sessions to draw children in; today, they provide comprehensive educational services with trained educators.

We’re making a difference: in one classroom, 55 of 70 students earned a state scholarship—one of the highest achievements in the state. Your donation will help us expand this success, giving even more children the chance to excel.

The E-learning Approach: MindSpark

All the schools we support use MindSpark, an educational tool progressing students an average of 1.3 grade levels per year, compared to less than one grade level in standard classrooms, according to in-house assessments. Here's what makes it special:

Unlike traditional classroom settings, where all students follow the same curriculum, MindSpark adapts to each student’s unique needs, ensuring they receive targeted support to build a strong foundation.

Using AI-driven insights and 20 years of research, MindSpark designs a unique learning journey for each student. By analyzing past assessments and learning patterns, it enables students to progress at their own pace, helping them overcome knowledge gaps and advance more effectively than traditional methods allow.

Progress & Monitoring

Measurable Growth and Continuous Support

Internal assessments show that students using MindSpark progress 30% faster than those in traditional classroom-only settings. Performance data is shared with teachers to inform instruction, while third-party staff regularly monitor labs on-site and through secure CCTV systems to keep students on track.

Each year, we aim to support 2-3 different NGOs, moving on to a new partner after reaching each fundraising goal to maximize our impact and reach as many students as possible. Partner NGOs are contractually obligated to use funds as specified, and we conduct on-site assessments to ensure proper usage. Additionally, we often provide “maintenance support packages” to NGOs from previous years—typically $5,000—to cover essential needs such as hardware replacements, software licensing fees, and educator salaries.
